Van is a normal boy living on the war-ridden planet Z, where high-tech machines called Zoids are the weapon of choice. He stumbles across ancient ruins related to the Zoids themselves one day while being pursued by a mercenary. Within its walls he uncovers a unique Zoid, an Organoid, and a mysterious young girl named Fiona.
