Synopsis :

It's the 22nd Century and Tokyo is mostly underwater. Masane brings her daughter Rihoko to Tokyo hoping to find work and a place to live. However, There are only a small number of children residing there because of the earthquake. Because of their unstable living conditions Child Welfare Services separate Masane and Rihoko.

In the detention center, Masane begins to feel excruciating pain in her hand. She has no idea that she's a genetically modified being, used only as a weapon, and is deemed "Witchblade".
