Story

14 year-old Daisuke Niwa was just like any ordinary high-schooler-Attending high school everyday, having a crush on a classmate and attending club activites. On his 14th birthday, everything changed.

After being rejected by the girl he liked, Daisuke would change into another personality called "Dark Mousy", the legendary thief of priceless art pieces and artifacts, and the transformation comes to him automatically whenever he thinks of the girls he likes! What's going to happen to him from now on?

At first glance, it seemed like a typical storyline: Boy reaches coming of age, alter-ego comes and turns his life upside down and hilarity ensues. It's not all about humor, though. The storyline slowly and surely unravels the threads of mystery as it progresses, giving us a better idea of the concept of co-existence between the two male leads and what Dark really could be. The more the story continues, the more you would wish to find out about him. Of course, romance, humor and angst are all mixed in together with fantasy. Sometimes the things they talk about can be really complicated, but it goes to show the depth of this manga, that it's not just some sappy romantic comedy at play.

Characters

Obviously, the main character-Daisuke Niwa. He's one of those typical main characters nowadays-Bumbling, emotional and clueless most of the time. He does mature as the manga progresses, a sign of his growth as he takes on a darker destiny with his counterpart, Dark Mousy.

Dark, on the other hand, is the complete opposite of him-Daring, obnoxious, skilful with his hands at stealing artifacts as well as the hearts of any girl who saw him. Dark has a mysterious past, and some of it is revealed as the story unravels. Occasionally, he would be shown as a gag character, which makes up part of the novelty for the manga.

Another male lead would be Hiwatari Satoshi, the protagonist of the story. He has an alter-ego as well, named Krad, who was not so friendly with the former as Dark was with Daisuke. Both seemed to have some sort of grudge against Daisuke and Dark, though that kind of relationship changes when Daisuke helps Hiwatari out instead....

For the female leads, it would be Harada Risa and Riku, the twin sisters with personalities as different as night and day. While Risa liked fanciful dresses and "girly stuff", Riku loved sports and preferred the comfort of shorts and jeans. Of course, both will play the love interests of Daisuke and Dark, which just makes things more complicated. ^^''

The character development was pretty good, especially into the later volumes of the manga. The issue of co-existence comes up many times, and dilemmas on the side of Daisuke seem to make him mature gradually. The mangaka did a great job by not rushing it, it seems. Everyone slowly changes as Dark enters the life of Daisuke, and vice versa. It's a nice change, especially when it is known that the enmity between the Hiwatari and Niwa families has continued for generations, and yet Daisuke wants to make Hiwatari his friend. Development doesn't come across as rushed, definitely, and even the focus switches to side characters as well.

Drawing Style

Beautiful artwork worthy of its storyline and characters. I like the way how the mangaka drew the hair and eyes for each character. Every single one of them didn't seem too skinny or too fat, and definitely *ahem* Not too busty for the females. HArdly an inconsistencies as well.

Enjoyment

I really enjoy it a lot, though frankly speaking, sometimes I don't even understand what they are talking about and would spend some time trying to piece things together. Other than that, I love everything about it.

Overall

On the whole, an extremely enjoyable manga series, though there are some hiccups along the way. This is highly recommended for not only fans of the romantic-comedy genre, but for all as well, though you might want to skip the more sophisticated dialogue occasionally coming up.

Story

The World is in collapse. Akumas, devils created with human souls by the misterious - and bizarre - Millennium Earl, destroy everything they see in their way. Claming to be making God's wishes becoming truth, the Earl plans to destroy the humans little by little...

The World would be doomed if it weren't for a group called "The Dark Religious Organitazion" and their exorcists, people who fight with their special power 'innocence' to protect the place where they live. And in the middle of all this there's Allen Walker, a 15 years old boy with a deformed arm which is his innocence. It can trasform and kill the enemy in a second... Isn't that very cruel to ask a young boy to do? But a war is a war, and Allen wants to fight to protect what's most dear to him.

Characters

Every character is unique and very special! It's hard to not love them, and the villains are adorable too! The personality of everyone is very detailed, and you know why they're doing what they're doing. They look pretty much like real persons, with their own personal reasons to act to save the world - or to destroy it. You can see them growing in the chapters and become more of what you expect them to be!

Drawing Style

he drawing style is really good! The only reasons why I gave it a 4 is because Hoshino's art can improve even more, as you can see from the previous mangas, and because sometimes it's so detailed it's confusing.

Enjoyment

It's published in JUMP, so why aren't you shounen fans reading it like, now? It got everything a serie need to captivate those who love manga centered in a great plot and characters you just want to see more and more.

Overall

D.Gray-man is a impressive manga with impressive plot twists and even more impressive characters. It's becoming really popular, so it may get an anime series and that would be really amazing. Every fan of shounen manga must read it - no one will get disappointed.

Magic Knight Rayearth

Story

The storyline of the first season is kind of plain, very simple, very rpg like. You get 14-year-old girls, you get big swords, magic, battles, appealing foes with no real murder intent, kawaii Mokona and a princess to save. Very commercial as well, since Sailor Moon was the hottest product for young girls back then.

Still, after a couple of episodes (manga and anime are completely alike for season 1) one start to see things getting more twisted and interesting, it's not just 3 girls developing as fantasy rpg heroines facing enemies from weakest to stronger. Clamp abruptly end this first part with a schocking and serious finale, which leads the reader to rethink about every idea one might have come up to about Cephiro and it's "idyllic" balance until then. Second season starts and deepen this sour feeling of loss and despair the Knights were left after their mission end. This time the plot is serious, sometimes tragi-comical, but very little innocence and hope it's left in the Knights, who start and inner journey of psychological development along with a new battle. Willpower, the very essence of Cephiro, plays a main role. This time we get a kind of "self- rpg", deep rooted in dwelling feelings and opposite factions who fight desperately toward a common goal.

Characters

Clamp can really create characters, this series features a wide range of people, kind of spit in 2 groups: The good ones and the baddies, plus an unclear group of, let's say, free minds, whose attitude change with time (sometimes even a bit too dratically). We also got Mokona, one of the most loved mascot chara of all times. The main characters are very well developed, appealing and different, so any reader can spot a favorite. There are also three big mechas with menacing faces, the gods at the service of the Magic Knights, whose level of offence is related to its owner abilities and willpower. Even the foes have their fighting mechas (some even have spirits!). Amongst the other characters, some are fascinating, with fitting personalities and coherent behaviours. Some are sadly cast aside as remote comprimaries, so they're a bit plain and unconvincing, but very little damage is done. As the truth approaches, their fates become closely interwined and interaction grows, until the climax when a new future is possible thanks to cooperation and impressive willpower, everybody in their own way.

Drawing Style

Impressive, every page is a spectacular little pieces of art. Clamp style is not as mature as in latest volumes of X 1999, but fully shaped and almost heavily decorated. Still, Clamp's elaborate pictures won't fail to convey the soft and eerie feeling engulfing the magic world of Cephiro, the impalpable strenght of magic. One ends up liking those big pointy eyes and slender bodies which are a kind of trademark for Clamp, and their exquisite creativity for outfits and objects won't fail

to be fully enjoyed. I recommend you all to have a look at Rayearth illustration collections, 2 books of exquisite images of the characters, carefully depicted with soft colors and rich backgrounds.

Enjoyment

I really came to love this series after reading it on the whole. It covers themes such as the inner struggle between self-annihilation and will to live, the ambiguous line between good and evil, self-questioning heroes. We see the magic world of Cephiro shaped by the willpower of its Pillar, an allegory of a person's feelings. It's fragile yet perfect balance troubled by love. An endless quest toward the truth, smiling and chillike heroines turning into adults as the events follow, certainties crumbling piece by piece, characters with very different, yet respectable, modus operandi. But while unveling all these mature and important themes which every person has to face at some point in his life, while following the Knights as they grow from immature and obstinate children to self-confident adults we actually have fun: there are many comical situations and light-hearthed moments, SD scenes and playful breaks, even comical battles, sapiently mixed with and ertertaining and unpredictable storyline.

Overall

Read it, watch it. If you like fantasy, mechas, fights, magic and bad girls with swords, this is for you. There's a substantial difference between anime season 2 and its paper counterpart, but enjoyable their own way. In the manga, there's a little less action and more reasoning, there's more time for introspection, repentance and remorse while in the anime, characters battle and interact more. It's really a good show, nice art, not your average magic girls anime and gets the reader to actually think about the themes of existential despair, love, understanding of others and such, all along, step by step, with lovely Hikaru, Umi and Fuu (+ Mokona?).

Great Teacher Onizuka

Story:

Eikichi Onizuka is a 22 year old male, virgin, who dreams about become a teacher so that he can become friendly with young high school girls. But there's one catch he totally forgot about. Teacher exam. Since he barely made it through college and then finally graduated after 7 years has he of course not taken this teacher exam which is, to his first great but then bad surprise held the very same day he's busy doing nothing.

Of course did he not make it in time and when he gets there it is too late. But the bad luck takes a big turn and Onizuka gets to know that one of the private schools are hiring sub teachers, a profession he does not need the exam for. [Good luck ends] On the way to the school on the crowded bus, Onizuka spots an older man squeezing a younger, quiet pretty, woman’s butt and Onizuka interferes and totally embarrass the old man. The woman on the other hand is friendlier, telling him she's also there to apply for the teacher position. The talk loudly and happily about how great it would be if they both got the job and both crosses their thumbs as it's Onizuka's turn. His great mood and high hopes suddenly breaks and dies as he steps into the room and sees that the principal of the school is no other than the old disgusting pervy man from the bus...

Character:

Eikichi Onizuka: He is so cool. My God. He's a total kick ass! He is pretty unpredictable, which is great for a change. Always dealing great with his students in an unexpected way, a big laugh! He's great. I wish he was my homeroom teacher. He is really stupid. Favourite word is great but he means well and all he wants is to make it a great day and a great school together with his class.

Fuyutsuki Azusa: Got hired the same day as Onizuka. She's really pretty but a little shy and you know. The other teachers always take advantage of these, making her run small errands, photocopy and things like that. Onizuka is always encouraging her and she thinks he is hopeless and keeps saying she wonders how someone like him could become a teacher. They're so cute ^^

Vice Principal Uchiyamada Hiroshi: I think he rules the series though Onizuka is the coolest. He is one of these nervous types just like the manager for Bad Luck in Gravitation who faints like 12 times each episode, though Uchiyamada does not faint that much >.> He wants Onizuka out but of course in the end they get along.

Sakurai Ryoko: The school head. She was the only one that wanted to hire Onizuka, claiming that it would be good to have someone like him around the school. She is cute! Trying to cover for his mistakes while she poses as the cafeteria lady so she can watch and get closer to the students and keep another eye on the school and the atmosphere. I like her. She's a tough lady!

Flame Of Recca

Story

The main character of Flame of Recca is a young boy named Recca. He lives with his father, his mother having died when he was very young. He attends school where he spends most of his time fighting.

Recca is a child obsessed with the Ninja and his
friends constantly challenge him to fights where Recca displays his awesome ninja skills.

One day Recca meets a young girl and he pledges to be her ninja. From then on he refers to the girl as "hime" (10 points to those who know enough Japanese to translate that).

Characters

Hanabishi Recca; Main character, ninja, flame master. Recca's a nice guy who doesn’t think a whole lot. If he decides to do something then he will do it no matter what obstacles may stand in his way. He's fiercely overprotective of Yanagi (hime) but he earns the respect of all who know him.

Ishida Domon; I know this guy shouldn’t be listed second; but he’s my favourite character so here he is. Domon is the big man of the series (tho; he always ends up fighting people bigger than himself.) He is also the dumbest out of the entire group. He proves himself someone to be relied upon and in the second half of the manga he just steals the show (as far as Im concerned). He ends up using a lot of powerful weapons to help him. But his physical strength is already well above average.

Kirisawa Fuuko; Also a ninja, Fuuko grew up alongside Recca and so she also picked up his hobby. She's an agile girl and she relies on her speed and technique. In the first volume she gains a weapon that enables her to control wind. She’s the only female member of Recca's fighting force; but she's very strong and is loath to let herself lose.

Koganai Kaoru; He's a little puzzle maniac boy. And while that sounds lame; its actually not. His puzzle is a weapon called the Kougan Anki. A weapon with 5 different forms. Kaoru relies on this weapon and his ability to plan to get him through his fights. He's a cool kid and manages to pull off some pretty impressive victories.

Tokiya Mikagami; Mikagami is the pretty-boy genius fighter. He uses a style called Hyoumon Ken and a sword with a water blade called the Ensui. He doesn’t smile much but his fights are pretty cool.

Drawing Style

I like it; The characters seem a little thin at times, and the mangaka really dsoen't draw well defined muscle. But I suppose that’s just part of the style. If there is one thing you gotta praise the guy on its just how cool all his characters seem.

Domon spends the majority of the manga fighting in just plain t-shirts but he makes it look cool. Kurei's presence tones the manga up a hell of a lot. He's the definition of badass... definatley not a guy you want to mess with. Recca's dragons look awesome when they come out and do stuff.

The art really works for the kind of story the mangaka wanted to tell.

Enjoyment

Flame of Recca is great. It’s a pure shounen manga. Fighting, fighting, a little bit of story here and there, more fighting and some comedy elements throughout.

Flame of Recca has the "laugh out loud" aspect going for it as well as the "OMG that was cool" aspect.

Overall

Recca is worth your time. Its cool, its funny, its got powerful characters and it uses them well.

It’s a ninja story with a modern story... and it works. It’s a great trip from beginning to end.

Full Metal Panic

Story

The "Full Metal Panic" manga basically takes some of the early novel and short story work by GATOU-sensei and gives them to illustrator TATEO Retsu to come alive. In many ways, it is the story told in the first "Full Metal Panic" anime series with some differences. Also, a couple of stories seen in "Full Metal Panic ~Fumoffu~" are in this manga.

The story itself tells of Sgt. Sagura Sousuke, who's a teenaged member of the mercenary group known as Mithril. He’s been assigned to protect the teenaged girl Chidori Kaname, who’s being targeted by parties unknown as she is suspected of being a “Whispered” – someone who somehow has advanced technical knowledge beyond normal human understanding. Thus, Chidori is introduced into a new world where things aren’t as simple. She has to survive a kidnapping plot, the near destruction of Tokyo by a giant rogue mecha unit, and Sagura’s constant goofs in public.

The story flows a bit better in the manga than it did in the FMP anime and there are a couple of short stories which have not been animated yet. However, I’m not sure that’s enough to warrant purchasing the title. If you loved the anime enough to buy it, you might want to own the manga as well.

Characters

Chidori Kaname – She’s the teenaged heroine of the title. Her life is turned upside-down when she learns that her “military otaku” classmate is really a mercenary assigned to protect her.

Sagara Sousuke – He’s the teenaged hero of the title. He’s assigned to protect Chidori no matter what the cost, including how much it might annoy her.

Captain Tessa Testarossa – She’s the teenaged captain of the giant submarine “Danna.” She is a whispered, and while a bit clumsy, she’s very good at her job. She’s not so good at showing her feelings for Sagura though. She’s fluent in Japanese due to having spent time there as a child.

Garon – He’s a mysterious fellow who shows up frequently to oppose Mithril. He and Sagara have a long history from Sagara’s childhood days of fighting.

Melissa Mao – She’s the head enlisted person in Sagara’s mecha group. She’s a of Chinese decent and has a past with Tessa.

Kurz Weber – He’s also in Sagara’s mecha group. He’s of German decent and is a sniper expert. While he’s a bit of a playboy at heart, when the going gets tough, he’s the one you want fighting with you.

Drawing Style

The drawing style is similar to that of the anime. TATEO-san does a really good job at bringing the characters to life. While I prefer the anime character designs, TATEO-san’s designs are fine. Her art is clean and nice to look at.

Enjoyment

The story I enjoyed and the short stories were funny. As such, I did enjoy the title. My enjoyment was lessened because of ADV’s refusal to respect the Japanese culture by mostly ignoring all Japanese honorifics. None show up and most of the time, the “translation” of the honorific is to pretend it wasn’t there. So for those who say that honorifics in the translations are a cop-out, how much greater of a cop-out is it to pretend they don’t exist?

Interestingly enough, the manga has a glossary to define naval terms or weapons shown in the manga. I guess there were no worries about readers being confused, even with a glossary, like they would with honorifics.

TATEO-san did a bonus section at the end of each volume (of which there are nine total) which I found to be very interesting.

Overall

Bottom line: Not bad, but nothing special. It could have been better with the honorifics left in tact, but even then, it still isn’t anything special. Too bad we don’t have the original novels officially in English.

Samurai Deeper Kyo

Story:

Samurai Deeper Kyo is set in the time period right after the Tokugawa shogunate came to power in 1600. The beginning of the story is the battle of Sekigahara in which the forces of Tokugawa Leyasu overcame the other clans to win the throne. During this battle a samurai name Mibu Kyoshiro and a mass-murderer named "Demon Eyes" Kyo duel, this duel seems certain to end badly for Mibu but he has a lover who is well versed in magic and commands a group of ninjas, Lady Sakuya. Sakuya conjures up a meteor to strike the battlefield, and as it approaches the ninjas Sasuke and Sanada attempt to get Mibu out of range. At the last minute the ninjas run but Mibu does not move....

The Meteor strikes the very spot where they fought, the tide of the battle is turned, and Tokugawa comes out victorious.....Four years later a medicine man named Mibu Kyoshiro wanders the land looking for love and of course cold hard cash, on the road he encounters a beautiful woman named Yuya who appears to be in trouble. Alas for poor Mibu it turns out she's a bounty hunter as well and she's come to turn Mibu in. But then a terrible monster appears, determined to kill Mibu for some reason. The Monster (a Kenyou, the kenyou were people who were present at Sekigahara when the meteor hit that were given monstrous powers) then proceeds to horribly beat Mibu, but eventually Mibu doubles back and catches the monsters stingers, Mibu's eyes have suddenly turned red and his voice is different Sanada and Sasuke appear, they give him the Muramasa, Demon Eyes Kyo's sword.....could it be? could this clumsy, childish medicine man be the mass murderer Demon Eye's Kyo? or is that not the whole story....

Character:

Samurai Deeper Kyo gets the best marks for character Design as all the characters are very cool and well thought out. From Kyo's kick ass armor at the beginning to Yuya's revolving gun, the characters all exude coolness and style. The coolest characters are the inventive enemies. Each Kenyou is both terrifying and incredibly cool, from the snake creature in the first episode to the armored spider guy in episode 5, they're the kind of bad guys that one is almost disappointed they're defeated.

Character List: (in order of appearance)

Mibu KyoshiroSamurai who is Sakuya's lover and appears to be with the Tokugawa clan. Loses memory in 1600 and becomes a traveling medicine man. Very clumsy but retains the inner strength of the man he once was......

Demon Eyes KyoMass murderer rumored to have killed 1000 people. Disappeared in the battle of Sekigahara in 1600. He carries a magic sword called the Muramasa, which is 1.5 meters long. His eyes have a sooty red glow about them which gave him his name.

Sanada YukimuraA ninja/samurai working for Lady Sakuya. Escaped the battle of Sekigahara unscathed, feared by the shogun. Likes Sake.

Sasuke A ninja also working for Lady Sakuya. Accompanies Sanada most of the time.

Saizou Another ninja working for Lady Sakuya. Appears to have some magical powers. Never gets to tell the good part :)

The Lady SakuyaA mysterious woman who appears to have a great command of magic...and a relationship with Mibu. Caused the meteor that ended the battle of Sekigahara. Commands Sasuke, Saizou, and Sanada.

Yuya A beautiful girl who is also a bounter hunter. She carries a handgun with three barrels and is not afraid to use it. Has large, cute breasts :) (watch it and you'll get that) She has dedicated her life to getting revenge on the man with the "cross-shaped" scar on his back.

OkuniA mysterious woman who also seems to have romantic ties to Mibu. But also seems to work with his enemies......

BenitoraA man who only seeks a strong opponent to fight in order to cure his boredom but seems to make friends almost instantly with Mibu. Wields a pike-like weapon with deadly skill... Does he hide a dangerous secret?

Music:

Overall the music is good but not excellent....something like the music from Kenshin, not the traditional Japanese sounds but more of the rock, guitar music from Kenshin. Blue Requiem (the opening theme) is an interesting amalgam of English and Japanese words, switching between the two rather randomly. It is however quite a good song nonetheless.

Animation:

The animation doesn't really stand out in any way from what's currently out there. The meteor in the beginning however was excellently animated. The only truly disappointing thing is how the battles are portrayed, oftentimes the battles are still sequences for effect, which makes it seem fairly slow, but other than that it is well animated and makes use of both time-honored techniques and some of the newereffects (like the meteor).

School Rumble

Plot/Story

Tsukamoto Tenma is a disturbingly cute schoolgirl with a crush on one of her classmates (Kurasuma Ooji [Who I personally believe has the personality of a wall]).

Harima Kenji is a delinquient with a crush on a disturbingly cute girl named Tenma Kurasuma Ooji Likes Curry

There isnt a whole lot of plot or any real kind of continuing story in this incredibly amusing school manga. Each chapter is tiny, something happens and it ends. But School Rumble works despite this, and after it gets established the chapters start to flow on from each other a little better.

Characters

Harima Kenji - He gets first place on this character listing because he is awesome. Harima, as I mentioned earlier is a delinquent. He came back to school sporting a new haircut and some stylish facial hair in order to get close to Tenma whom he idolises above all.

>Tsukamoto Tenma - Hung up on Kurasuma something fierce... I can't figure out why, but I assume its 'cause the manga would be less funny if she wasn’t. Despite being the older sister, Tsukamoto looks and acts a few years younger than she actually is.

Hanai Haruki - Another personal favorite of mine. Hanai is the strict-ish martial artist/studious student. And he has a crush on Tenma's sister that is almost scary (yet so very funny at the same time). His defining line goes something like this "I want to see you in a hakama!" (Trust me, its laugh-worthy)

Suou Mikoto - Great female character, very attractive character design and an appealing personality. She's a childhood friend of Hanai and maintains a good relationship with him.

Sawachika Eri - The manga's gaijin, tho not really 'cause she's part Japanese (just wait till the Mexican arrives for someone of full gaijin status). Oh and she’s got such an **awesome** relationship with Harima, and yes... I’m being sarcastic.

Tsukamoto Yakumo - Tenma's younger (yet older looking/acting) sister. She has this curious ability to know what people are thinking. She's also very pretty.

Drawing Style

I love it. It’s a great style and the first thing I did on arriving in Japan was pick up the first 6 volumes. School Rumble is definitely a manga worth owning. But yeah, drawings are reasonably detailed, characters are easy to tell apart and each has an appearance matching their personality.

Guys are cool, Girls are attractive, and the art style fits the scene perfectly.

Enjoyment

It would be an odd person that doesn’t enjoy the antics of this group. School Rumble won’t disappoint.

Overall

Great to look at... Great to read.
Buy it, download it, whatever you want... but make sure you give it a shot. School Rumble is a truly enjoyable manga.

Gantz

Plot/Story

it starts out about a kid (kei) whose at a trainstation one day when a bum falls onto the tracks so everyone is just staring, and all of a sudden this other kid jumps onto the tracks to help the bum, but hes too heavy so then they make eye contact and they recognize each other the other kid yells out ot him and the crowd all starts staring at kei.

he feels preasured to help and jumps down onto the tracks, to make a long story short they save them bum but they die this is where everything starts getting twisted and no its nothing like yu yu hakusho they both wind up in the wierd room with a ball in it(gantz) and the ball tells them that thier lives are now his and they will now have to fight for him. so now in comes the super suits and crazy weapons that make phasers look like a light up toy around roll some aliens and wham bam let the masacure begin, think of it as a show set in modern japan cept its more like a scene out of aliens(the movie with sigorni weaver lady) and everyone is going insane beacuse they have no clue as to what is going on and why this is all happening

very cool but i hear he uses a computer to render alot of his images at least for the background

Enjoyment

well its not what you would call a manga for everyone if i had to catagorize it id say scifi/horror/ maybe mystery since i still have no idea whats going on

too crazy and compicated to explain theres lots of gory action, crazy scifi stuff, freaky aliens, rollercoaster relationships, phsycological twists, and nightmarish mystery as to what the hell gantz is here for

+Anima

Plot/Story

+Anima is a lighthearted manga with 10 volumes by Mukai Natsume. It's set in a World where +Anima, people with animal characteristics, like batwings or fishtails, exist.

However, because of their special power, +Anima are in the most part of time hated and feared, even if they aren't evil by nature. The manga tells about the boy Cooro, a +Anima with crow wings, and his adventures in the search for new friends and other people like him .

Characters

The characters are so simple and sweet, that even the 'bad' ones are loveable. Every one has his personal trait, and they relationship and interaction is really amusing. There are four main characters:

Cooro -

A simple minded boy who loves apples,. cheese, and traveling with his friends in search for adventures. He may seem innocent, but he can play good tricks to get what he want.

Husky -

A +Anima who has the power to breath and grow a fishtail underwater, looking like a beautiful mermaid. He's very moody and is always hitting Cooro. Despite looking like one, Husky says he hates girls.

Senri -

The most adult of the group, this bear +Anima has only 15-16 years, but is very quiet, making the 'silent type'. But when one's treatening anything he cares for, he'll be very angry.

Nana -
A childish bat +Anima. She likes 'girl's things', and her dream is to marry a prince charming some day. Nana's always fighting with Husky over anything.

Drawing Style
The style of the drawings is not detailed, yet beutiful. Every character is really cute, and there're some images you just want to go 'awwwwn' over them. The style of the clothes is really cool too, there're a lot of frills in girl's dresses, and nice suits to the guys!

Enjoyment

It's not a manga everyone will like, but in my pesonal opinion is the simplicity that makes it special. It's cute and fun, and it's a good read if you're tired of over complicated plots and just want something to bright a little your day and cheer you up.

Overall
As +Anima doesn't have an actuall big plot, every chapter containing a little story/adventure, it looses a little credit in the story rating, but the feeling of the manga really adds up to it. If you like cute, heart warming histories, I'm sure you'll enjoy, as it's impossible not to crack a smile in every volume.

Dead Note

Story:

The story start with a student Yagami Light which belived that the world was rotting. Then in the school he saw a note book fall and picked it up when the school ended. Death Note was the name of the note book and Yagami readed on it and it says "The human whose name is written in it shall die and the face of the person written on it".

Yagami didnt belive it, but couldnt stop thinking about it and tested it on a killer which was sent from the news and he got killed by a heart attack and couldnt still belive on it so he tested it again. He tested it on a bike-rider which tryed to take a woman and he got killed by a car and Yagami saw it in hes eyes and said "The Death Note its the real deal!!. Then on a night a Death God Ryuk ( not me ^^ ) came to Yagamis house since the only one which can see Death Gods is the one who touch the Death Note and Ryuk said "that notebook belongs to you now". Yagami used it to kille the criminals to become the god of a new world and ryuk wind it interesting and sticked with him.

Character:

The character Yagami Light is okey since i cant say much about him, but he is DAMN smart and find very cool metodes on using Death Note. Ryuk is a Death God which dropped the Death Note since it belonged to him and he is a DAMN GOOD CHARACTER.

Music:

The Music is DAMN GOOD the OP and END song.
Animation:

Animation is very good i say and its hard to say anything about it and i cant see anything bad about it.

Air Gear

Story:

Air Gear is about a 15 year old named Minami Itsuki - aka Ikki, he is/was the leader of East Side Gunz (Higachu Junior High school gang).

He lives at the Noyamano siblings' house. The beginning of the story is pretty much talking about how he discovered a pair of AT which the Noyamano siblings has been trying to keep a secret from him because they thought it was too dangerous. The Nayamano siblings is the group 'Sleeping Forest' - quite infamous in the (Air treck)AT's world. But now seem to be retired from the battle/sport, or so they want to anyway. The later parts of the story so far is dealing with iIkki's journey to becoming the Sky King. Ikki then later forms his own team and so the story goes on with his battles and stuff.

Character:

Ikki - main character...person who's said to be the closest thing to becoming the Sky King. Great determination and he's also funny at times. Have shown many people the freedom of the sky and that 'everyone is born with wings'. Ringo Noyamano- one of the Noyamano siblings who is very close to Ikki and always help him out. She is very important to the story. Onigiri and Mikura Kazuki are the other two mempbers of the East Side Gunz . They are Ikki's friend (Kazuki is Ikki's childhood friend). They later join Ikki's team. Buccha - one of the rivals Ikki faced in the beginning. Buccha originally had his own team, 'the Yaou' but was defeated by Ikki. He became friends with Ikki and also later joined Ikki's team. Simca - a girl Ikki met who is a top Storm Rider. On many occassions in the beginning... she gets Ikki in trouble which resulted in AT Battles. Other characters...I'd hate to spoil..so you'd just have to watch.

Music:

The OP and ED's theme are good...I'd say they fit the story quite well. I thought the music was okay in the beggining of the story but it gets better and better. I just love the instrumental background music...fits the battle scenes and 'looking cool' scenes very very well. I love the background music so much.

Animation:

The animation is as it is. It's not bad at all...in fact - it's good. I would'nt say they were exceptionally well but...it's just normal. It's good, period. There are many funny scenes that draw the characters outta whack...very funny!

Comments:

This story is funny throughout with good battle scenes and inspirational music. The concept of the AT world with it's battles and tricks and stuff is original. And the characters get further development through out the story...as the story progress- so does the characters develop. And as you watch further.....the more you watch...the more it get's better!!!!!!!

20th Century Boys

Plot/Story

To be the greatest superhero you have to understand one thing and thats how to be the greatest supervillian. Kenji runs a former liquor store that is now refurbished into a convience store.

Running on hard luck, Kenji has had to fumble with his duties to his convience store and his niece, left in his care by his runaway sister. All these pressures pale in comparison to the coming of a conspiracy that only he and his childhood friends will have to face. Will he be able to figure out the mystery? Can he stop what is to happen in time? Can they really prevent what is foreseen to happen? It really seems impossible.

Characters

The story begins with Kenji and mostly centers around him with his childhood friends. I'm not going to give every character since there is way to many to describe. I will say that each character has his/her own personality. You will start to feel as if you are these character's friend and not just reading a manga... more like you are part of the story trying to save the world along with them.

Drawing Style

I was really amazed by this style. At first I was skeptical thinking it was just another typical style, I was completely wrong. I truly appreciate the characters that exist in this manga and the detailed backgrounds. Urasawa Naoki doesn't do the sexy girls/guys. If you are hoping to find busty girls this manga doesn't have your ecchi intentions in mind. You will find scenes that will give you goosebumps and make your hair stand on the back of your neck as you read on.

Enjoyment

Enjoyed isn't capable of describing what I felt about this manga. I spent 8 hours one night trying to finish this series off. I couldn't put down the volumes even if I had wanted to. The complex and always changing storyline keeps you wanting more. Even if you aren't a fan of mystery which by chance I'm usually not, you will most likely appreciate this one. May turn out not to be a favorite but I have a feeling you will still enjoy reading. When I do finally finish this manga I truly believe I'll be satisfied but at the same time begging for more.

Overall

Excellent story, great artwork, and this all adds up to be one of my all time favorites. I've read lots, lots, lots, (this could go on for a bit) of manga. In the end I always mention 20th Century Boys as a manga someone should pick up or download. Every person I've passed this manga along to has become a radical fan as I have. Nothing more to say than I hope you will join the fan ranks as well.
